Usually, people enroll without any proficiency in English. No knowledge is needed.
But there are cases when a group with strong English forms. In this case, we discuss the admission individually.8 to 10 students. There is also an assistant in the classroom, who helps the teacher during the lessons. They accompany a group of children throughout the school day, help not to get lost, explain tasks to children if they did not understand it, and show what needs to be done. The assistant establishes communication between the children and monitors discipline.Group learning is more effective than individual learning, especially when working with children and learning a foreign language. Language is a means of communication. We learn a language in order to communicate and solve various communication tasks. If there are six people in a group, then the student learns to understand six different people, respond to them, and take the initiative in communication. When working together, an English-speaking environment is not formed between a teacher and a student, which is important for high-quality language learning.
In our groups for 4 — 7 year-olds, there are no more than 10 people; and there are only 8 students in groups for children up to 3 years old. All the children in a group have a similar level of English, as tutors distribute them based on academic performance, conversations with parents and individual recommendations from teachers.The tutor accompanies the child at all stages of learning, monitors progress and helps to build an individual educational track. He coordinates the teachers, assistants, psychologists of the centre and together with them is part of the adult team around the child. Such a system helps to keep motivated and ensures the comfort of every London Gates student.
