A Team Centered Around the Child
Around each child, we create a team of teachers, assistants, psychologists, tutors, and parents. The role of adults is not just to provide knowledge but to inspire, support, and guide. A student can always turn to any of them and be heard.

We believe in:

People
It is people who shape the environment, which is why London Gates students are surrounded by passionate individuals who constantly explore new ideas, genuinely love what they do, and create a lively and energetic atmosphere.
Empathy
Empathy inspires and drives new achievements. Our staff always engage with the lives of children, making students at London Gates feel valued and important to the world around them.
Curiosity
The most important thing our children gain is a love for learning, a desire to explore the world, and an endless curiosity about themselves and others.

How Learning is Structured

Learning is an Adventure
Bilingual Education
Two days a week, children study in their native language, and two days in English. The fifth day is either a cross-disciplinary or revision day, conducted either in the native language or in English (languages alternate each week).
Cross-disciplinary Days
On cross-disciplinary days, students delve into a specific topic and explore it from various perspectives, applying all the knowledge they have previously gained in lessons.
Tutors
Each class has its own tutor who helps structure the educational process and is always in contact with the parents.
Teamwork
London Gates brings together parents, teachers, tutors, and psychologists into one team to help the child achieve the best academic, personal, and cross-disciplinary outcomes.
Holistic Development
At London Gates, students develop not only academically but also creatively, emotionally, and socially.
Daily Reflection
Every school day includes a “circle time” — a gathering where children discuss the events of the day and share their emotions..

How the Curriculum Works*

National Curriculum
Focus on the strong academic foundation of the national curriculum: mathematics, native language, literature, and environmental studies.
British Curriculum
Focus on practical learning. Children create and present projects, cook, make books, write, simulate real-life situations, and more.
Freedom of Expression and Creativity
Children perform plays on a big stage, play musical instruments, and study the history of theater, visual arts, and music.
*The order of topics may differ from the National or British curriculum.
** By the end of Grade 4, children will have covered all topics from both the National and British curricula.

What Parents Say About Us

My eldest daughter started first grade on September 1st. She attends school with great enthusiasm, and we can see her progress in language and other subjects.
The most important thing to consider is what your values are in education and what you believe should be the primary focus in primary school. Here, the approach is very thoughtful and centered on engaging children in the learning process. My husband and I fully share this philosophy, which leaves no doubt in our minds that we made the right choice. :)

My 6-year-old son attends the preparatory class. He and his classmates absolutely love the school. The mentors and assistants provide an incredibly sensitive approach, the teachers are wonderful, and the program is rich and engaging.
The language barrier in speaking English has completely disappeared, thanks to the alternating days of Russian and English instruction. A lot of attention is given to developing soft skills and instilling a love for learning by teaching children methods and approaches.
There’s no frantic race to meet rigid standards with a stressed-out atmosphere, as is often seen in the Russian system. Instead, there’s a flexible approach within a psychologically supportive and comfortable environment.
I would compare it to giving children fishing rods and teaching them how to catch fish, rather than just stuffing them with a set of knowledge from morning to night.

Our Experience with the School

My son is 7 years old and started first grade on September 1st. Here’s why we chose this school:
1. The school offers a gradual, comfortable, and thoughtful introduction to learning, with classes conducted in both the native language and English. For us, starting school solely in English would have been stressful, and learning in Serbian doesn’t make sense as we don’t plan to stay in the country long-term.
2. The school is staffed by people who share my values and moral principles. When I visit, I feel a strong connection with the teachers, tutors, parents, and children. This alignment is very important to me because my child spends almost the entire day in this environment, and it’s crucial that it feels psychologically comfortable.
3. I appreciate that there’s no rigid discipline like “leave two spaces,” “this is the only correct answer,” or “because the teacher said so.” The school encourages freedom of thought and self-expression. Students can debate with teachers, help their classmates, and work as a team. Mistakes are allowed, and they’re seen as a learning opportunity rather than a catastrophe. The children are guided and corrected when necessary, but they’re allowed to explore and grow.
4. My child comes home from school happy and satisfied.
5. I see clear academic progress. My son meets all the expectations for a first-grader in terms of language, reading, and environmental studies. Compared to my nieces and nephews in top Russian public schools (in Moscow and Novosibirsk), I see no cause for concern. On the contrary, my son is more confident in his knowledge, and the curriculum matches expectations.
My son loves math, solves problems quickly and in large quantities, and his teacher provides him with more challenging and interesting tasks. His progress in English has also been remarkable.
6. The relocation was a significant stressor for my child, leading to psychological issues like withdrawal and reluctance to communicate. The school has been instrumental in helping him overcome these challenges. I personally wanted my child to feel safe, and the school has created and maintained that sense of security.
7. Initially, there were some issues with textbooks, homework, and food, but the school administration was quick to address them. They are always open to communication, and all our concerns were discussed and resolved.
This school has provided not only a solid educational foundation but also a supportive environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth.

Alex
Children go to school with great enthusiasm. It’s wonderful to observe the attention tutors, teachers, and assistants give to the well-rounded development of students. At London Gates, a significant portion of learning time is dedicated to developing universal skills.
At the same time, I see a high level of preparation in subject courses — but it’s important to understand that their structure and the desired behavior of students differ from how we were taught. In this approach, I see more freedom for children to express themselves and remain true to who they are. I’m not an educator, but intuitively it seems to me that memorizing is easier than understanding why a subject is important and learning to love it — London Gates focuses on the latter.
I also appreciate the sense of community. I feel like I’m among “my people” when interacting with the staff, other parents, and children, and the kids share similar feelings.
Recently, the school received Cambridge accreditation, making it a suitable option for families with flexible plans, as transferring to a Cambridge school anywhere in the world becomes relatively straightforward. At the same time, the school provides assistance with Russian documents for those who need them, ensuring that option remains available as well.
